Black-Owned SEO Company

We run local and national search campaigns for small and mid‑sized businesses. Not a reseller. Not a dashboard with someone else’s work behind it — the person who audits your site is the person who does the work on it.

  • No long contracts
  • Reporting you can actually read
  • An audit before you commit

What SEO Actually Involves

Most businesses arrive having been sold “SEO” without ever being told what it is. Here is the whole thing, plainly.

01

Technical SEO

Whether search engines can crawl your site, index it, and understand what each page is about. Broken canonicals, slow pages, duplicate URLs, missing structured data. Unglamorous, and usually where the biggest problems hide — we have found sites losing half their visibility to a single misconfigured setting.

02

On-page SEO

Whether each page targets something people actually search for, and says it in the words they use. Most sites are optimised for how the owner describes the business rather than how customers look for it. Those are rarely the same.

03

Local SEO

For anyone selling within a geography, this is most of the game. Google Business Profile, citation consistency, reviews, and location signals on the site itself. The map pack sits above every organic result — if you are not in it, the first organic position is already the fourth thing on the page.

04

Content

Pages that answer what people are actually asking. Written for the person searching, not for a word count. Volume for its own sake has not worked for years.

05

Links

Other sites referencing yours. The hardest part, the slowest, and the one most agencies quietly skip while charging for it. We will tell you exactly what we are doing here and what it is realistically worth.

SEO for Black-Owned Businesses

The mechanics are the same for everyone. What differs is where the opportunities are — and we know this territory well.

Directories most agencies never touch

Black-owned business directories, minority chambers of commerce, supplier-diversity registries. Legitimate, relevant citation sources that actively want to list qualifying businesses — and far easier to earn than the generic links everyone else is fighting over.

Supplier-diversity search

Corporate and public-sector procurement teams search specifically for minority-owned suppliers, often through registries rather than Google. Being findable in both is a different discipline from consumer SEO, and the contract sizes are not comparable.

“Black-owned” as a search modifier

A real and growing share of consumers add it deliberately. If you qualify and your site never says so, you are invisible for a set of searches with unusually high intent — people using that modifier have already decided something about who they want to buy from.

We are a Black-owned business ourselves, so none of this is theoretical positioning. It is how we found a good part of our own client base.

How We Work

Four things we hold to, on every engagement.

Start with an audit, not a contract

A free site audit first. Sometimes it shows a technical problem worth fixing and nothing else — and we will tell you that rather than sell you a retainer.

Fixed scope, monthly

You know what is being done and what it costs before the month starts. No surprise line items. See SEO plans.

Reporting you can read

Rankings, traffic and conversions in plain language, with what changed and why. If a month went badly you will hear it from us first.

No lock-in

Month to month. If we are not earning it, leave. We would rather keep clients because the work is good than because the paperwork is tight.

What to Expect, Honestly

SEO takes months. Anyone quoting weeks is either inexperienced or lying, and there are a lot of both in this industry. Roughly what the shape looks like:

Month 1–2

Technical fixes, on-page work, Google Business Profile. Small wins on long-tail terms as things start getting indexed properly.

Month 3–4

Movement on mid-competition terms. Local visibility usually improves first, because it is the most winnable.

Month 6+

Competitive head terms, if the fundamentals hold and links are being earned steadily.

Nobody controls Google’s results. What we control is that your site has no technical reason to be held back, targets the right things, and earns citations over time. Any guarantee of a specific position is a guarantee someone cannot keep.

Black-Owned SEO Company FAQs

The questions we get asked most, answered straight.

What makes you a Black-owned SEO company?

Pure Code Digital is Black-owned and operated, based in Louisville, Kentucky. It is a fact about the business, not a marketing angle — though it does mean we know the directory and supplier-diversity landscape better than most agencies.

Do you only work with Black-owned businesses?

No. We work with anyone. A meaningful share of our clients come to us specifically because of who we are, and we are glad of it, but the work is the work.

How much does SEO cost?

See SEO plans for current pricing. It varies with how competitive your market is and how much technical repair the site needs upfront.

How long before I see results?

Local visibility often moves within two to three months. Competitive terms take six or more. Anyone promising faster is guessing.

Do you do local SEO and Google Business Profile?

Yes, and for most local businesses it matters more than anything on the website. See local SEO.

Can you help us appear in supplier-diversity searches?

Yes — registry listings, certification directories and the on-site signals procurement teams look for. It is a different channel from consumer search and worth treating separately.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Month to month.

Do you also build websites?

Yes — see our web design work. Sometimes the honest answer to an SEO enquiry is that the site needs rebuilding first, and we will say so.

How do I start?

A free audit, or get in touch. We will tell you what we would do and what it would cost before you commit to anything.

Start with an audit, not a contract

We will look at your site, tell you what is actually holding it back, and what we would do about it — before you commit to anything.
